The Thoughts of My Mind

About ME
I am Micah Kerns. A simple, determined, but chaotic and lost photographer. I choose to look at the world through an unfiltered eye, and set aside differences for absolute beauty. And in the end, I place all that I can in the final shot.

I have had many challenges throughout my life. Including being a furry, having mental disorders, and just having no purpose in life. Because of these experiences, it changed my life in many ways that I was scared about. But throughout my life, my parents have been a stable rock for me to survive on. All of these things have affected me and created who I am now. But I am still changing.
But looking forward, I want to be able to live my life in confidence. I want to chase what I am passionate about without any chains holding me back. I want to know who I am.
But grounded in reality, I am striving to major in mechanical engineering and computer programming. And to get a job that supports one of these things. Or, to pursue the path of a professional video game player or photographer.
In the end, and at this time, I like to speak through the photos I take. I want to present the image and message within me. I want to show the world I see through the lens of my camera. I wish for people to see myself within the photos I take.
My Reflection On Being a Photographer
The world of photography is not an easy one. To take this path, you must dedicate yourself to your work. You can’t just take a random photograph and call yourself a photographer. You have to take all things into consideration, like lighting, point of view, and the various compositional styles. But, you don’t need all of the fancy equipment that you see professional photographers use. What I'm saying is if you want to be a photographer, you have to dedicate yourself to your photos and the message that they create. But, you don’t need all of the fancy equipment. Just a simple camera and an eye for beauty or detail.
You almost always are seeking the chaos or beauty when you look at something. It is within this that you can see the message that the artist is trying to create. The visuals within art are always changing, causing a different impact to whomever looks at it. Whether this be strong emotions, or something you have never felt before. It can change from the way that you look at the world, down to the way you think. It is within this mindset that you see the true purpose of the visual. The way that the artist truly intended for their artwork to be seen. Through unfiltered eyes and an open mind to the truth.
The photos that I take come from the choices and feelings that I have at that time. These emotions are then placed within for the viewer to experience. But what they say about me…
These photos represent my state of mind and how I would naturally view the world. The choices I make represent how I feel about myself from what I see through the lens of a camera. The creative liberties that I take and sacrifice for the shot are the decisions that I have made throughout my life. Ultimately, it just comes out as a simple image of pixels or ink that represents my connection to this world.
